Focus on innovation

At Milipol Paris 2023, innovation took center stage with the introduction of the Milipol Innovation Awards, which recognize outstanding innovations in products, equipment, services, solutions and business models in six categories, including one dedicated to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. Dyneema®, owned by Avient Corporation, was selected as one of the finalists in this CSR category for its circular solution for end-of-life recycling of Dyneema® fiber. The awards ceremony, which took place on Tuesday, November 14th at 2pm, added even more excitement to an already dynamic event.

Special Features and Demonstrations

For the first time, Milipol featured a Startup Area, featuring 30 startups from Generat by GICAT, who showcased their innovations in a platform that highlighted the dynamism of entrepreneurship in the security sector. In addition, dynamic demonstrations by RAID and GIGN, two elite units of the French National Police, added a new and exciting element to this year’s event.

Conference Program and Future Focus

The conference programme, in partnership with the International Institute for Advanced Studies in the Interior (IHEMI), centred around the 2024 Paris Olympics, addressing the security challenges it poses and examining the transformative potential and legacy of such a global event.

Body Armor News editors had fruitful meetings with representatives from various body armor brands and gained valuable insights into the latest trends, innovations and challenges shaping the industry. This first-hand experience further underscored the importance of Milipol Paris 2023 as a premier platform for networking and knowledge exchange in the world of bulletproofing.

As the field of bulletproofing undergoes ongoing changes, including a major shift towards eco-friendly and recyclable materials, Milipol Paris 2023 served as an interactive and informative platform for industry professionals, enthusiasts and the general public to stay up to date with the latest developments.
